What would gun owners do if I try to disarm them politely for public safety?

If you ask politely I’ll laugh at you and walk away.

If you try to say “Excuse me, I’ll just take that.” as you’re reaching for my sidearm, I’ll start with seeking to break your wrist, twist your shoulder out of its socket and, if you persist, draw my sidearm and shoot you.

This is not a joke. You may think you’re being a clever troll but if anyone thinks they can seek to take a person’s gun off them in public for any reason and they aren’t law enforcement, they are seeking a early grave. The moment you move beyond “ask” you are in territory that legally allows me to kill you where you stand to prevent you from engaging in threatening others with seriously bodily injury or death with a stolen firearm. Mine.

The law says I get to shoot you for even making the attempt.

There are very few things in this world that will cause me to resort to violence more-or-less immediately. Reaching for my gun is one of those things. It is not theoretical to me; I have done it
